Well-known in the field of communications and audiovisual production, Claude Bédard, president of HJC Productions, puts his skills and knowledge at the service of companies and organizations that have specific communication needs. In meeting the needs of its clients, HJC Productions relies on a team of specialists with expertise in a wide range of fields.

Before founding HJC Productions Inc. in 2003, Claude Bédard worked for the Société Radio-Canada for more than 10 years. At Radio-Canada, he held the positions of General Manager – television programming and broadcasting, and General Manager – communications (in which capacity he was responsible for advertising, public relations and strategic planning).

His duties led to his involvement in various audiovisual markets around the world. Notably, he participated in the creation of the programming managers’ committee at the Communauté des télévisions francophones (CTF) and led workshops for the International Public Television Conference (INPUT) in Italy and France.

Claude Bédard also held the position of Director of Communications at Télé-Québec, and Director of Communications at the Quebec ministries of culture and education. As a consultant, he helped develop the US market for the French network TV5, developed the inaugural programming for the cultural network ARTV and, in 2005, chaired the committee charged with studying Télé-Québec. In 2002-2003, reporting to the Conseil exécutif du Québec (Cabinet), he was in charge of all major advertising campaigns conducted by the Government of Quebec.

A graduate of Université Laval in journalism and information, Claude Bédard launched his career in journalism, which he also taught for several years at the Université de Dakar in Senegal. He thereafter continued his international career in Paris, where he worked as a communications consultant for the Délégation générale du Québec.

Among the other communication and marketing positions he has held, Claude Bédard served as Vice-President – Marketing and Communications at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
